This video was shot in a very different way from our previous videos. The majority of the video was shot from a shoulder mounted POV camera that points back at the person carrying it. In simple terms, the camera follows Doug through the mud. Since the camera is attached to Doug, the camera moves when he moves. It gets a bit jumpy when he has to twist and tug to break the suction of the thick mud. The effect is hard to describe. In a way, you're along for the ride, and it gets rough at times. In simple terms, the camera follows Doug through the mud. Since the camera is attached to Doug, the camera moves when he moves. It gets a bit jumpy when he has to twist and tug to break the suction of the thick mud. The effect is hard to describe. In a way, you're along for the ride, and it gets rough at times. I enjoyed watching it, but it's definitely not like a steady tripod shot. Update: I created a teaser/trailer as a preview. The audio is pretty good in this clip, but there is occasional wind noise. The clip opens with some shots of Doug, wearing tight jeans and boots, walking around in shallow mud (1 min 20 seconds). Then there is a 20 second shot in the kayak. The majority of the clip (about 9 minutes) is Doug, struggling in deep, thick mud. The struggle is real. The mud is extremely difficult to navigate in boots, and Doug struggles hard to break free. He gets out once and goes back in (go figure?). The clip ends with a minute and 40 seconds of cleanup video. All but the first 2 minutes were shot on the body mounted camera. The video quality is very good.
