John Marsh is tracking a poacher in the swamp, but the poacher leads him straight into a quagmire that slowly swallows him and will not allow him to escape. John puts up an earnest fight, but the quagmire wins. At the end of this clip, he is up to his ears and thoroughly exhausted from his futile struggle.
