I have endured a brutal training camp, and that shows at the weigh-in: I am a pack of muscles, and I flex on the scales long enough for my opponent to realize that she's in trouble. We square off, a long, nervous, intense staredown. We are both determined and confident, yet nervous, as we both realize that the following day we are going to hurt each other a lot.
It's fight day. I am getting oiled up by and massaged by my second. I then start my warm-up with skipping rope, push-ups, and biceps curls. My oiled muscular body glistened in the light, my sculpted back muscles, my toned shoulders, with veins popping out of my neck, arms and shoulders. I get my hands wrapped and continue my warm-up with shadow boxing. As it's nearly time to step in the ring, I wear my robe and wait to make my entrance, jumping nervously up and down as I try to stay calm and focus on my strategy in the upcoming match.
I make my entrance. "My mouthguard please". My second put the mouthguard on me and removes my robe, revealing my muscular physique. I put my gloves on, hitting them against each other nervously, jumping up and down. "I'm ready: "Let's do this". I square off nervously with my opponent as we listen to the instructions. Long hate-filled staredown, I grin with my mouthguard as I warn my opponent: "You'll get hurt". We touch gloves violently. We cannot wait to start.
It's a slugfest from round one. We are hitting to hurt from the very start, each blow threw to be a knockout punch. I am holding up well, but I am taken by surprise with a punch. As the glove hits my face, water and saliva spray from my mouth, and I struggle to stay standing. But I manage to reach my corner on my feet. The fight continues as a merciless, brutal beating. My face is a mess. In the corner, my second empties almost a bottle of water on my head and face and applies paraffin gel on my battered face. During the rounds, the level of roughness escalates. In the corner, my second barely manages to remove my mouthguard, as I am gaping exhausted for more water on my face and body. The breaks are not long enough for me to recover, and I'm gasping for air. Before the final round, I stand up and walk to the center of the ring, determined to end this. My opponent is still strong, each punch causing puffs of sprayed saliva from my mouth. I quickly regain the initiative and in an increasingly brutal exchange of knockout punches, knocks out my opponent.
I reach my corner, sit down to rest, and spit out my mouthguard with a mouthful of saliva. Then get up to reach the center ring where I am proclaimed the winner. I flex my oiled, wet glistening muscles for the audience.
