Then, the sensation of slowly sliding through a narrow, slimy passage. The PillCam had reached the small intestine. Grrr... scrrcch... There was a faint rustling sound as it advanced, like rubbing silk, and the occasional thump, probably from contact with the intestinal walls.
A landscape both familiar and alien, its folds and loops unfolding like a pink maze. The intestinal villi, seen up close, resembled a dense forest of microscopic corals. Rivers of intestinal fluid flowed along the walls, carrying nutrients and food particles.
The PillCam had completed its mission for me it had been much more than a simple exam. It had been a fascinating journey into the depths of my body, a unique sensory experience that had allowed me to see and feel my insides like never before.
