Jadie is having extra tuition with Miss Switch because she is failing Geography. Being something of an "old-school" disciplinarian, Miss Switch tries to get Jadie to remember facts the reliable way - through repetition. Repetition of lines on the blackboard and repetition of the tawse on her bottom! The Headmaster puts Miss Switch straight about what is, and isn't acceptable behaviour for teaching staff in his school by demonstrating his own belief in traditional discipline for the teacher who whacks bottoms!
