Museum intern Nyxon is working at a storage area for a local museum. The storage facility recently got a delivery from an archeological dig, where a lot of precious artifacts are being held. Curious about the artifacts, Nyxon sneaks in after hours to get a head start on the delivery. She walks into the room, and her eyes immediately light up when she sees the boxes.

Museum intern Nyxon is working at a storage area for a local museum. The storage facility recently got a delivery from an archeological dig, where a lot of precious artifacts are being held. Curious about the artifacts, Nyxon sneaks in after hours to get a head start on the delivery. She walks into the room, and her eyes immediately light up when she sees the boxes.
There's so much stuff to work on, but Nyxon notices that nothing has been catalogued yet. Well, they'll never notice if something's gone missing, and they do owe her after screwing her over on that terracotta warrior find last week. Hmmm... she walks over to a nearby laptop, logs in & begins to look at what they have to offer. At first, nothing is looking too promising, and Nyxon is beginning to think that this is a bit of a bust. She keeps scrolling, and suddenly her eyes light up. She comes across something called "Case AU" & it's exactly what she was looking for.
She looks around the room, and spies the metal case containing Case AU, and walks over to it. She carefully picks it up & opens the lid. A gold light illuminates her & she smiles at she she finds inside. She picks up the gold stone & is instantly mesmerized by it. Suddenly, the stone burns her hand & Nyxon drops it as she yelps in pain. We hear the stone smash on the floor as Nyxon winces as she holds her poor hand. She starts to feel funny, and her body begins to freeze up. Too woozy to notice, Nyxon's body is soon fully frozen solid. Slowly, Nyxon's body begins to turn solid gold. First, the hand that touched the stone, then her feet, her calves, then her entire lower body, her arms, and then finally her entire head. After a few minutes, Nyxon is a solid gold statue.
Nyxon unfreezes & feels a bit groggy. Unaware of her transformation, she stretches & notices that her arms are gold. "Wait... what the hell happened?". Frantic, she suddenly remembers the gold stone. Did this do that to her? She notices that her hair is also gold, and as she inspects it, she muses about how much her hair might be worth. She thinks about that for a moment before coming to her senses. She realizes that messing with that stone was a mistake, and her body freezes solid once more.
Nyxon unfreezes again, and notices the broken stone on the floor. "Oh no! All of that knowledge lost. What a shame. Ok, I'll just explain everything to Dr. Smith, and he'll turn me back with no problem". She starts to walks towards the laptop, but freezes solid once more. After a few minutes she unfreezes, and then finds something on the laptop, "The stone was taken from an area that is believed to be the location of the mythical King Midas. It was taken from a tomb with a number of other gold...".
"No, no no. That nonsense is a myth. I can't have turned gold". She turns to walk away, begins to feel weird & stops. Slowly, Nyxon begins to freeze once more. First, her feet are frozen in place, then her legs, and then the freezing moves up her body until only her eyes & mouth can move. Finally, Nyxon's eyes close, and the sound of her voice stops completely.
The final scene opens up with Nyxon on display in a museum. There's a sign next to her that reads:
"Sculpture of Unknown Female- Artist Unknown
This golden statue was not part of the initial excavation of the tomb but arrived with it at the museum back in 2018. It's sudden appearance is now almost a legend as no one has claimed responsibility for this discovery for over a decade".
