I want to hear things like "you're my banana, I'm going to eat you. you have no control here," etc. And make fun of them, have conversations with them, and pretend they are crying! The kisses are supposed to be teasing them AND hurting them! Also, they are both boys, male fruits. And they don't like being eaten by a girl!

Maybe the banana can be BIG and ripe, with brown dots, and the apple can be giant, dark red, and juicy. Big enough, so when you bite it, juice comes out!
