She runs up the street, heels clacking loudly. She realizes however that two antagonists are tailing her. Jade runs up a side alley. She looks back to see if her pursuers are close. They're nowhere in sight. Suddenly, she stumbles and drops as if she's stepped into a hole. She yelps, more from surprise than pain. The stilletto heel of Her left foot is now firmly wedged in a sewer grate! Jade tries to pull her foot free, but it won't budge. She squats and with her hands under her foot, tries to pull it out of the grate, but her heel is hopelessly caught. When her pursuers come to the end of the alley they see Jade struggling with her foot and start up after her. Realizing its either the shoe or her life With disgust etched on her face, she once again must abandon her shoe! She hobbles and hitch-hops away. Jade turns into a building and now has to find her way out, again in only one shoe. Lots of great close-ups of Jade's one shoed feet as she limps along with the accompanying “Click-pad, click-pad sound,” the occasional skip-hop, stopping to grab and caress her shoeless foot as it becomes cold and sore. Jade screams as one of her pursuers grabs her shoeless foot out from under the boxes as she steps over them but her slippery nylon allows Jade to slide it out of her grasp with some grunts and a few good tugs. In the end, Jade successfully evades her pursuers and finds her way back out to the main street, where her trusty friend in the dark car pulls up. She jumps in making her escape. As she does she says, “Yeah, I lost another damned shoe! Just drive!” The door closes, the car pulls off, and Jade once again completes another successful, if one shoed, mission.
