Pregnant Kelly and her girlfriend Bree are at home chatting. Suddenly Kelly feels a heavy pain in stomach. Are these contractions related to premature birth? Her girlfriend Bree, an asthmatic, is so scared and surprised that she begins coughing and wheezing even though Kelly's pain has subsided. She has her inhalator and she uses it but with little effect, Bree gasps for air and she can't speak. Kelly immediately calls the ambulance and when it arrives, Bree is very close to indisposed because she cannot breath. The paramed gives her an O2 mask and starts stething her lungs and heart, checking her BP and inserting an IV. However, she begins seizing and becomes rigid.The parameds decide they must intubate and help her with an ET tube. They cut off her bra and start the intubation procedure, but poor Bree's seizures are strong and continuous. EMT Edina tries for a long time to place the tube when she realizes that poor Brees heart has gone into Vfib while seizing! The med team starts CPR immediately with fast and strong chest compression while ambu bagging her thru the ET tube. Because the patient hasn't responded they place the AED electrodes onto her chest and prep her for a shock. The first AED shocks elicit no response. So they continue the CPR. The medical team performs more cycles of strong CPR, bagging and defibrillation to revive Bree. Finally following a shock her pulse returns! She opens her eyes and starts moving. Kelly is *very relieved* as the paramed team prep her for transport to the hospital. An excellent and dramatic asthma attack - on location resus scene with very long and heavy symptoms sequence!
