The head nurse moves Caroline over to the gurney, and wheels her into the operating room where Caroline is slid over to the operating table, hooked up to the heart monitor, and put in a pressure cuff. Caroline is prepped for but looks nervous about the claustrophobic mask. The nurse puts her mind at ease while placing the mask over her face, telling her to take some nice, deep breaths. The nurse gently pats Caroline's cap and strokes her cheek. After Caroline is under, the nurses use the rebreather mask, and begin intubation. The bandage on Caroline's hand is gingerly removed, and surgery begins. It is going well when all of a sudden Caroline sits straight up in the middle of it! (seen from a number of angles). The nurses are caught off guard and frantically try to get Caroline to lay back down. In the middle of this chaos, Caroline codes and resus begins. The nurses work diligently to save her using defib paddles and CPR. Once Caroline is stabilized, the surgery continues. When completed, the nurses extubate Caroline, wake her, and place an O2 mask on her. She is taken to the recovery room, and monitored by the nurses. Still wearing her bouffant cap and O2 mask she is told the surgery went well, and that she will make a full recovery. the nurse pats and strokes her cap covered head and ask Caroline to test her surgically repaired hand by moving and bending her fingers.
