Hillary is in the hospital with cardiac failure in this immediate action clip. She is hooked up to a 5 lead heart monitor with BP, pulsoxymeter, IV and nasal cannula inserted. She is using her phone in her bed when suddenly her heart rises to a very high, irregular level. She start gasping for air and breathing very quickly. The medical team checks her vitals immediately and preps the defibrillator for a cardio-version. They shock Hillary’s heart in a seated position. The action is successful, and her heart returns to a normal sinus rhythm. However, her heart rate once again becomes irregular and the med team exams her and then shocks her heart with paddles and gel in a half-seated position. She once again returns to normal. However soon after, while she chats with her girlfriend by phone a new attack starts. The med team arrives and preps the paddles again. But now something is wrong: following the shock Hillary’s heart goes to Vfib and soon flat lines. The med team sets her bed to a horizontal position, re-charges the defibrillator and shocks her again but there is no response. They begin CPR and ambu bagging immediately. A long and dramatic action ensues with many life-like defibrillation and deep and strong chest compressions. Following many cycles of unsuccessful resus, they prep the Lucas CPR system. The mechanical CPR is very graphic and dramatic on Hillary. Sometimes they stop the machine and defib her but there is no response. Following a few cycles of Lucas CPR Hillary’s heart goes into vfib again from flat lining. This is a good sign and they remove the Lucas thumper and following a dramatic manual CPR sequence they perform a defib series on her. Following the third shock Hillary’s pulse returns and she looks stable.
