They tell her to get in right away! She arrives and the nurses immediately check her BP give her an O2 mask as Kendra is breathless. They also do an immediate ECG exam using an old style rubber band for chest electrodes. Kendra has atrial fibrillation so they must cardiovert her. They attach the AED pad onto her chest delivering round after round of electro without result. Kendra is moaning and breathing heavily and eventually flatlines! CPR is begun immediately! Following some rounds and another defib her pulse is back and looks normal. However a few minutes later her pulse goes abnormal again and she starts gasping heavily for air and suddenly collapses into Cardiac arrest. Nurse Nicky and Betsy continue resus with CPR ambu bagging...they remove the AED pads and charge the defibrillator with paddles and also proceed to intubate the patient. Following many rounds her pulse is back. Nurse Nicky and Betsy realize Kendra will not leave the hospital today so they hook her up to a respirator.
