She calls for the nurse and When they arrive her breathing is slight and her heart is arrhythmic. The medical team starts the resuscitation procedure with CPR - deep and strong chest compressions - and ambu bagging. The defibrillator is charged and 3M pads placed but there is no response following the shock. The med team places the CPR board under her back and continue the resus procedure. Following a few cycles of defibrillation, the patient's pulse returns. She is in panic, semi-conscious and her heart rhythm is not stable. Her breathing is alternately fast and weak and slow and deep. The medical team checks her vitals and tries to keep her awake but soon her heart flat lines again. They continue the resus routine again. Following many unsuccessful cycles they intubate her and continue the resuscitation. They perform a few more cycles of CPR - defibs and bagging until FINALLY the patient's heart finally returns.
