The LUCAS produces automatic CPR on her. At the hospital, the LUCAS is still working on her. She is intubated, hooked up to the heart monitor with 3 leads, IV inserted too. Nurse Jade pauses the mechanical CPR and defibs her. There is no response and they turn on the LUCAS again. Following a few cycles of the CPR they shock her again by the AED. Her pulse returns, and her vitals look good after this action. The medical team removes the Lucas and since she can now breathing alone, they extubate her. The O2 mask is placed and the med team starts a 12 lead ECG exam on her. She still has chest pains and is breathless. With the 12 lead on and the med team realizes she is having a massive heart attack. She starts gasping for air and her heart goes to Vfib then flat lines. The med team removes the 12 leads and starts CPR immediately with deep and strong chest compressions. They ambu bag her and the defibrillator is charged. Although her body jumps there is no response. The med team continues with the resus procedure. They cut off Nia's pants and following a few cycles of CPR and defib, they place the CPR board under her body and continues the resuscitation. Following many cycles the patient's pulse returns. She looks stable enough to transport to the cath lab. Resus action in this one starts from the very first second!
