Before they can start, Viki’s early nervousness causes her heart to go into Vfib and very soon flat lines. The doctor starts CPR immediately and the med team tries everything. The defibrillator is charged but there is no response after the round. The med team performs many more cycles of CPR, Bagging by tube and defibs. When the patient’s pulse stabilizes the surgery has to be rescheduled. They extubate her and prep her to transport to the ICU.
