Ellie's new step-dad is trying hard to fit in with the family, he wants to be her friend but also is aware he needs parent as well. The dilemma comes when he catches Ellie vaping with her two friends Kyler and Natalie. He has to then sit down with Ellie and figure out how best to PUNISH her... he comes up with a solution but we're not so sure it's going to act as a solid deterrent given how Ellie seems to be enjoying it.
