A man is awakened in the middle of the night by the front door telephone of his apartment building. He hears a familiar voice on the other end, but can't believe his ears. It's his estranged step-daughter, Dolly, whom he hasn't seen in ten years. She has traveled all the way from Europe to escape her crazy step-mother and be reunited with the step-father she idolizes.
