Contractions are an expected part of any pregnancy, but that doesn't make them any fun! You never know when they're going to hit, or if they do, how severe they'll be. Some are mild and pass within seconds. Others are excruciating and last several minutes, which seems like an eternity when you're in such debilitating pain.
