Nicky didn’t have time to do laundry last week, and she’s going through laundry basket to find some cleanish socks. But all the socks are smelly and pretty dirty. She’s digging through dirty laundry and she finds a pair of knee high socks that are acceptable. Those are her roommate’s stinky socks, but she’s hoping that no one in her class will notice. She puts on her black loafers and leaves. Next, she’s sitting at her school desk, and suddenly she feels an itch in her left foot. She scratches her foot inside the shoe, but the itch is still there.
