However, when it does not go well, she takes on the brunt of the punishment. Unfortunately for her, today is just one of those times. Kanon has been carefully observing her target for weeks now.
Raichi Fujikawa is a pharmaceutical executive who makes his money selling faulty meds that only get passed through to the public because of his falsified clinical trial data. Despite his calculated cruelty, he is a very shrewd man, almost always with a bodyguard who handles all aspects of his security, including his documents.

To have any hope of exposing him, Kanon goes undercover as his personal assistant. With her investigation firm’s connections, she is able to get the job with ease. Now with access to his daily schedules, she knows exactly when she can search for the incriminating evidence. So she slips into Fujikawa’s office right as he leaves for lunch. She scours his office top to bottom, unable to find anything. Right when she’s about to give up, Kanon finds a tiny USB taped onto the underside of the desk. Now that she has the evidence, Kanon goes to leave, but she’s too late. Fujikawa, with his bodyguard beside him, are standing in the doorway, blocking her escape. Aww no, Kanon thinks to herself.
