The Scenario:
Scene 1 (1-2 minutes)
Jane is a substitute teacher and she can’t afford to keep her classic Camaro in the best running condition. After a long day, she walks to the teacher’s parking lot and tries to get her car started so she can head home. Of course, her old Camaro refuses to start up initially and cranks, sputters and puts on an embarrassing display in the parking lot. Jane doesn’t freak out or panic, but she is really embarrassed by her car’s behavior. As a sub, she wants to make a good impression and hopes none of her students sees her struggle. The Scenario:
Scene 1 (1-2 minutes)
Jane is a substitute teacher and she can’t afford to keep her classic Camaro in the best running condition. After a long day, she walks to the teacher’s parking lot and tries to get her car started so she can head home. Of course, her old Camaro refuses to start up initially and cranks, sputters and puts on an embarrassing display in the parking lot. Jane doesn’t freak out or panic, but she is really embarrassed by her car’s behavior. As a sub, she wants to make a good impression and hopes none of her students sees her struggle. After a little over a minute of cranking and pumping, Jane finally gets the Camaro fired up and tears out of the parking lot.

Scene 2 (2-3 minutes)
We cut to Jane as she’s on the road headed home. Almost immediately, the Camaro begins to lose power and begins to chug and slow down. While rolling, Jane slaps the car into Neutral and tries to rev the engine up but to no avail. Just as she finds a safe area on the side of the road to pull over, the Camaro cuts off. Again, not panicked but pissed, Jane scoots up close to the steering wheel, angles her right foot to get a good position on the gas pedal and begins her restarting attempt. Knowing not to flood the car out, she initially employs her 3-4 pump and then hold the gas pedal down method, while cranking. She keeps her heel on the floorboard while cranking and keeps the starter spinning for longish cranking sessions, in hopes of getting the Camaro to turn over. After a few unsuccessful attempts, she gets a little frustrated and then resorts to continuous pumping of the gas pedal while the starter. She’s now pissed but she still keeps her heel on the floor while pumping the gas pedal. (I’m not a fan of crazy stomping on the pedal and overacting) The Camaro just sputters and occasionally teases that it wants to start, but it doesn’t. Ultimately, the Camaro refuses to restart and leaves Jane stranded on the side of the road.
