Kestrel is sent to The Dean's office to see Miss Betty who is doling out the Friday punishments. Kestrel is bent over and spanked with a leather tawse for multiple uniform infractions. She is to return at the end of the day after gym to receive a paddling . Kestrel returns to the office after gym class and is told to choose her paddle to be punished with. She chooses a large wooden paddle with holes, and is given 8 swats over her thin gym shorts. She is left with her bottom bared until The Dean arrives to inspect the work that was done.
