To warm up for my ride today I start with lunging. I stand in the middle and let my pony run around me on a leash in circular paths. I give instructions on running style and posture and correct with the dressage whip if necessary.
When I have the impression that my pony is ready for a ride, I start with it. Since I haven't ridden this pony for a long time I limit myself to a smaller area for my ride.
