I'm trying to pop the lid off the container of bobby pins in my hands. It's so stuck and then suddenly it bursts open, spilling bobby pins all over the carpet. Exasperated from trying to collect them by hand, I get out the vacuum cleaner (hoover brand) and suck them up. At first I try with the head on, but the pins get tangled and jammed in it's mouth. I try removing the lower steel portion of the tube but it doesn't come off for some reason, leaving me to take off the entire steel tube and cleaning them up with the hose. The powerful vacuum blows my hair and skirt about every time I get close...

The powerful vacuum blows my hair and skirt about every time I get close to it. I replace the head of the vacuum once the bobby pins are collected and do a quick once over of the carpet before unplugging it and retracting the cord.
