Isabella has wandered into a zone where tiny people are supposedly protected from giants. That explains why they're not running in terror at the sound of her giant footsteps. Isabella thinks she can always say she never say the sign, saying that interacting with tiny people is forbidden...So she steps on them...with shoes and with barefeet. She enjoys the sensation and it shows.
