The three think they can get away with their misdemeanours throughout the lesson, unfortunately for them their Teacher Mr Green is more acute than what they give him credit for. Remember the expression �has eyes in the back of his head� these three neglected to remember this one thus end up receiving discipline from Mr Green, for attempting to put one over on him and sneaking out in lesson for a quick cigarette, the two girls taunting the new boy into joining their gang telling him to go out for a quick puff. Regrettably the new boy gets caught much to the amusement of the girls, he is told to empty his pockets and bend over a chair where he receives a strapping followed by the cane. Mr Green calls the two girls out and they have to empty their pockets as well, making every effort to conceal their own guilt. Cigarettes and lighter are found in the Head Girl�s pocket! The two girls suffer the same consequence their new friend got! Apparently the punishment seems to have little effect and the girls get caught cheating resulting in all three receiving a slippering!
