Violet was told to stand up, go and change into her pyjamas and return with the slipper - in 2 minutes. Violet was put back across the paternal lap for a sound slippering, first on her pj's and then on her bare bottom, which was red raw by the time the tanning finished. A very tearful and chastened young lady was then sent to bed to cry into her pillow and come to terms with the fact that sore bottoms were definitely not just a thing of the past.
