My subordinate has proven himself capable, and I think he’s ready for promotion. But I need to know that he’ll be ready to do anything for the job. More importantly, he also need to know his place - he needs to know that he’ll always be beneath me. I decide to test him by making him use his tongue to get my boots nice and clean, making him take his time on the tips, backs and sides. I’m only satisfied when he’s made ever inch of them glisten with his spit! As a final show of respect, I make sure that he kisses the toe of each boot.
