At the relatively late age of 21 Rudy decided to sample a cigarette offered by her friend. She had previously declined all invitations to try smoking when presented with an opportunity, but this time she relented and tried a cigarette.

These 3 scenes feature an explanation of why Rudy started smoking. The interview sequence proceeded particularly well with Rudy happily responding to a long succession of questions.
