She's eager to sink, pretending this is her first time in quicksand. Stepping forward, Elana probes the edges of the pit, sinking just up to her ankles. When she's knee deep, she removes her shoes then allows herself to sink deeper, all the way up to her waist. Aiming to be careful, she pulls herself out a bit, then allows herself to sink back in. Up to this point, she is describing how the experience feels, including the texture and thickness of the cold, refreshing mud. Slowly she sinks to her shoulders, while the camera zooms in closer to her body as the mud claims her. She even takes time to play the victim, trying to get free. The mud jiggles & shakes as she tries to get free. Both arms sink in, too. When Elana is neck deep, she decides to get out. What follows is a very slow self-rescue, where Elana pulls her arms, then her body out of the mud pit, even having to rest at one point due to the exertion of fighting against the sticky, sucking mud.
