On a brisk winter afternoon, Audrey and her boyfriend Devon prepare for a party, thrown by Audrey's step-sister, Zoe. Audrey spends hours fixing her hair, picking out just the right dress, and making sure she has a gift to bring the beloved hostess. But then, she's dismayed to discover Devon on the porch, wearing jeans and a dingy sweatshirt, lazily smoking a cigarette.
