The two soldiers, Christian and Tom, report another time to the marshal to be punished one at a time. After being stripped naked, and they are whipped with severity with the nine-tailed whip. They are required to endure a hard and well deserved punishment. The boys must demonstrate that they are men and try to remain stoic. The whipping is followed by a vigorous hand spanking.
