The marshal wants to again see the strength of the soldier Christian and orders him to do squats while naked and all the while being flogged with a cane, following this at the turn of a card he is given a good hand spanking. As Christian continues his exercising this time bending and touching his toes the Marshal turns to flogging his already sore bottom now with a leather strap. In the end Christian is completely exhausted and soaked in sweat.
