Lily is alone in her detention. She should be writing lines but instead she runs her hands down to her feet, which are feeling sore from being in her high heels all day, and slides her fingers inside her shoes. Her soles ache and her toes have been squeezed, so she sits up on the desk and slowly slips off her heels and rubs her feet a little.
