The first incident actually happens in the gym, where Mr Sharpe has been standing in for the PE master who is away on a course. It's here that he catches Mycroft (Pavel Novy) who has been found with empty cans in his locker from the night before. He's not been very sensible about it !

This lad needs a Sharpe lesson and is starts with a good over the knee spanking. Next with his bare bottom still throbbing Young Mycroft is ordered to kneel on the gym bench resting on the small vaulting bench. Mr Sharpe cannot abide bad language especially when its used by a student against a female teacher, that particular lad can expect no mercy.
