Young Deborah Strickland wakes up one morning realizing she hasn't studied enough for a test, so she decides to feign illness so her step-mother won't make her go to school. She tells her step-mother, Sally, that her stomach isn't feeling well.

Deborah's step-mother first takes Deborah's temperature rectally, then, finding that the girl isn't running a fever, gives her an enema in hopes that will cure the problem.
