Three very guilty looking boys are gathered in a far corner of the playground, waiting to return to Mistress Baton's detention class. In anticipation of their immenent corporal punishment, they're busy making 'gatvelletjies' - pieces of rubber, cut from the inner tube of a car tyre, into which holes are punched. The rubber is to be inserted between the bum and the underpants, in an attempt to soften the painful strokes from her notorious cane.
