STORY :
Wonder Woman is asked by IADC director Steve Trevor to come to his office. It seems as though there have been a rash of strange robberies. Wealthy people committing various blue-collar crimes around town like robbery and arson, and then awakening hours later from a fog-like haze with no recollection of what they did or why they did it. The only recurring themes from all of the criminals is that they have no recollection of their actions, and that all of them attended a "magic show" featuring the antics of MENTOK THE MIND-TAKER, a cheap parlor magician touring through the Washington DC area with his magic act.
Wonder Woman, skeptical, doesn't think that his "sensual occult mesmerism" show is anything other than a cheap pandering act meant to showcase women in skimpy costumes and trick people into behaving like barnyard chickens. She scoffs at the obvious waste of her time. Steve, perhaps a little more concerned, insists that Wonder Woman at least meet with Mentok and check out his act, and Wonder Woman reluctantly agrees but remains convinced he's a sham and that mesmerism isn't real.
Later that night, WW meets with Mentok in his dressing room. Mentok is sensually aroused by Wonder Woman's skintight spandex leotard and asks her if she'd consider being one of his "stage assistants" which the amazon princess politely refuses. The subject turns to mesmerism and WW admits that she doesn't believe in it. This raises Mentok's ire and he points out that he has toured for years based on the power of his mind and of his 'occult charm' that he found in a necromancer's graveyard in Europe. It gives him total dominion over the minds of the weak and the undisciplined. Wonder Woman dryly mentions that her magic tiara has a ruby star in it which augments her telepathic powers and makes her immune to all forms of mental coercion and brain control. mentok (slyly) has his own moment to laugh about WW's "magic headband" and expresses skepticism about the value of her tiara. This eventually leads into WW being goaded by Mentok into removing her magic tiara and agreeing to give Mentok a few minutes to try and control her will. Mentok pulls out his magical charm, and without defenses WW's mind is easily conquered in under a minute as the silver pendant swings lazily back and forth, slowly draining away Diana's weakening willpower with frightening ease!
Now a mind slave, Wonder Woman holds her arms out in front of her body and shuffles around the room aimlessly like a zombie while Mentok laughs at her mental dominion. Then to further prove her humiliation, Mentok compels her into believing that she's a farm chicken! Clucking and strutting around the room, "Wonder Chicken" pecks away at unseen things and searches for seed on the floor of her "chicken coop." Then to add insult to injury, Mentok plants the suggestion in her mind that she's a ballerina and laughs as Wonder Woman pirouettes around the room like a graceful dancer, spinning and twirling and dancing to beautiful music which only she (and the viewers at home) can hear.
to bind herself with her own magic lasso, Mentok also interrogates her about her sources of power and has WW remove her bracelets and power belt, setting them down. Now powerless and at his mercy, he mesmerizes WW into peeling off her indestructible costume, revealing sexy red lingerie on underneath! With her lingerie now revealed for the world to see, Mentok laughs and has WW put back on her power items, making WW a mindless-yet-invincible mesmer-slave dressed in sexy red satin lingerie from Victoria's Secret! Horrors! Can Wonder Woman snap out of this mental fugue state and win the day? Without her powers, it seems highly unlikely!
