The Red Witch goes out to her garden only to find all her veggies have been eaten by two small elves. Now she has no food for the long winter ahead. She panics and sets traps for the small elves. One of traps works, but she only gets one of the elves. She brings him in to her home and teases him: she will cook him, unless he brings her a friend who is plumper than he is. The elf agrees and very soon returns with a friend. The Red Witch swallows his friend in one big bite.
