Miss Jessica Jones was back in the ring following her emotionally charged battle with Bubbles just 2-weeks earlier. Both fighters exuded confidence and smiles in the pre-fight interviews and the stage was set for battle of the beauties - both of whom know how to fight and have an inner bitch that their 'butter wouldn't melt' looks suggest!
From the moment referee Breeze said 'fight', Lucy launched herself at Jessica with a headlock take down that sent them crashing to the canvas. Jessica didn't take this lying down, however, and no sooner was she down she was aggressively mounting her opponent, looking for her trademark technical submission. What ensued was these stunning fighters rolling over and over trying to establish a dominant position over the other. It wasn't long before arm bars were being applied and vicious slaps were landing on bare flesh.
The first submission of the fight didn't come until the 4th Round. Both fighters came so close to getting submissions up to this point that the fight hung in the balance at every turn. It is testament to the fighters that not more submissions were seen - they endured so much in the pursuit of victory that the number of submissions won is immaterial - the look and cries of pain on the faces of the WildcatzTM fighters tells a thousand stories!
The bitchiness came to the fore in Round 2 with nasty hair-pulling and evil slaps being thrown at every opportunity. At one Jessica manages to lock a head scissors on Lucy but couldn't quite keep it secure long enough to gain a submission before Lucy squirmed out of it. Possibly after a word in her ear from corner girl Tiger, Lucy came out in Round 3 like a WildcatzTM possessed! She showed off a greater eagerness to beat her opponent and this brought results. This was, however, by no means a one-sided affair - these two WildcatzTM were about as evenly matched as you can get.
The later rounds just got better and better and once the first submission of the bout had been gained the urgency to defend and attack grew as the bout neared conclusion. The holds were applied tighter, the slapping became ever more vicious and hair (both red and black) littered the ring. By the end of the fight 2 submissions had been scored and, barring the clock running out, a third would have been gained in the last round. Overall it was an exciting, closely fought bout between beautiful women - WildcatzTM at it's best!
