Suburban housewife a Tanya Hamilton spends the day at the mall with her step-daughter Alice. When they return home Alice accepts an invitation to go swimming in her friend's pool. Glad for some time to herself Tanya lies down for a nap. She tosses and turns restlessly for several minutes before deciding to read a book.
