Oh my poor feet, they've really had it! she moans as she gets home and sits down. Monica cannot rest though as she has another party to go to this evening. She checks the time. She has one hour before she needs to start getting ready. She decides to go and lay down and rest for the hour. Having rested, Monica finishes getting ready for the party, deciding to wear her new, very high, peep-toed platform shoes. Gingerly she slips first one foot and then the other into her high heels. The new shoes are very tight on her still tender feet. The hours rest has not been enough and Monica's feet still ache. Perhaps Id better not wear these. Maybe I can wear a pair of flats? Oh but my boss will be there tonight and I want to look good for him. I know all my girl friends will be there and wearing there high heels so I guess I m going to have to manage in these. She says, looking down nervously at the high heels she s wearing. She gets home five hours later. Oh god, my poor feet! she moans. My feet feel so swollen and these new shoes are so tight. I daren t take them off at the party because I don t think I could have got them back on again! Carefully she eases first one and then the other high heel off her red and sore feet, at the same time letting out a moan of relief. Well at least my boss appreciated how I looked, he couldn't take his eyes off me. Just then her phone rang, who could it be at this late hour? It was her boss, wondering if he might come around for a coffee. Just a moment. She told him, putting the phone to one side. Determined that she d look her sexy best if he were to come around, she began to try to squeeze her swollen and aching feet back into her high heels. Her feet were so tired, tender and sore but after a couple of minutes she finally managed to get them back on. She picked up the phone and, composing herself, said, Yes, okay that would be great.
