On a few prior occasions, we have inflated a certain large yellow hippity-hop to a fairly full size. But when Sushii discovered that no one had ever taken the time to inflate it all the way to bursting, she set about to change that. Having no idea how much it would stretch, she set out to blow until she could not blow any more, then continue using the high-pressure foot pumps, and even default to the air compressor if that's what it takes. Well, as luck would have it, all of those were necessary. She huffed and puffed for over sixteen minutes before deciding it was time for the foot pump, and after some minutes of that, added a hose so that she could blow some more to expedite the process. The air compressor was used to take it to final pressure - around 3.6 psi - and a final size of nearly four feet! Sushii was rewarded with what was almost certainly the loudest explosion we have ever created. Hoses pulled out of their barbed connectors, and some fittings were even bent beyond usability after they got slammed against the floor by the explosion. Easily the most destruction we have ever caused in the course of a single experiment. At least no one called the cops...
