After returning to school after the holidays, Eddie is up to his old tricks of attempting to get out of cross country so goes to see the Matron. Matron realises that there is some regularity in his visits to her and seeks out the Headmistress to inform her. Headmistress enters Matron's office to find Eddie sat on the medical bench swinging his legs, after a discussion to what his illness is. Headmistress points out that it always happens just before a P.E. lesson and learns that there is nothing wrong with his knee or ankle, she tells him to bend over the bench whilst she uses “the class mate”...
