Alice (Clare Fonda) calls her husband to let him know she will be working late grading papers. Her husband is worried because of some recent burglaries at schools in the area. Alice assures him that she is safe because the burglaries have occurred on the other side of town. After she hangs up, there is a knock at her door and in walks a masked man. He ties Alice up with rope and leans her over her desk. Worried that a janitor might hear her, the man stuffs a rag in her mouth and wraps medical tape around her face to gag her.
