Mr. Mason confronted Rebecca and made it clear that he knew she'd cheated. She denied any wrongdoing, though when her teacher threatened to take his findings to the principal and her step-dad she looked for a way out of the situation. The educated man gave her an option, they could meet at a hotel in town and she could take a spanking or he was going to spill the beans.
