I'm a former competitive freediver and back when I was training and competing regularly I got to a point where I could hold my breath over 5 minutes pretty consistently. Soon after I was training too much and trying to grow too fast: I burned myself out. My coach had warned me! I had to stop diving completely.
Now fast forward a couple of years and it's still hard for me to do any long underwater breathholding in a competitive manner. Especially in front of a camera! The mental space just isn't there... but on this beautiful day at the pool I went in with the intent to just relax, ...
