It is time to go out and do errands on crutches and in my new cast. Unfortunately here in Canada we had one of the worst snowfalls ever and by mid April there is so much! I'm just getting used to crutches so I don't dare take the stairs. I go down my front steps on my big butt. The path from my house to the car is treacherous, watch me precariously put my worst foot forward, crutches sinking in the snow as I wear the cast with no socks or cover (FOR YOU! So you can see it well). I'm wearing a light jacket and a knit skirt, with my legs bare. I get to the driveway and oh no! It is covered with ice, which I can't avoid to get to the car. I put my crutches on the ice and go slowly, clearly worried about falling down and hurting myself again. I open the car door and put the crutches inside. At the bank, I try to go to the stairs, forgetting that I can't climb them...so I take the long way to the ramp, which is thoughtlessly covered in snow and ice! It's so hard when you're disabled. Makes me feel for those who are permanently so. Next I arrive at the pharmacy, watch me crutch sideways and get a great view of my cast as I enter the building. It's quiet so you can see me going up and down the aisles, looking at items and waiting for the pharmacist to be free. I always dread going out in bad weather in my cast and crutches but filming it made it more fun, so I hope you enjoy.
