The story begins with Austin waking up one morning. As she groggily sits up and lowers her foot down the side of her bed, a sinister hand jolts out from under the mattress and grabs her ankle. Austin startles awake again in her bed, as if she's just woken up. Confused and concerned, Austin is wondering if her ankle being grabbed was just a dream. As she carefully lowers both feet to the floor, they're grabbed again. The is so strong that Austin is pulled to the floor. She fights valiantly before being dragged feet-first beneath the bed.
