Austin is a scientist who stores unique creatures in her home lab. One of them is The Plant, which has remained relaxed and on a stand so Austin can see it. Another is a giant spider, which has grown bigger and bigger despite showing no signs of life. Austin examines, measures, and photographs the spider. She also records her notes and thoughts into a small recorder. During her examination, she notices that The Plant is missing from its stand. As she puzzles over what could have happened, she rests her hand on the counter next to the giant spider. It suddenly comes to life and bites her hand and then scuttles away before she can grab it. Austin grabs the spider's container to try and capture it, but she immediately feels her legs going numb. The spider's venom seems to have some kind of paralyzing effect! She loses strength in them almost immediately and falls to the floor. Next her arms start to go numb and stop moving the way they're supposed to. Soon she's face-down on the floor. As Austin becomes almost completely, she looks up and sees The Plant sliding towards her with its mouth open. She's utterly helpless and can only scream as The Plant bites down on her torso and gradually gobbles up her body headfirst. So she'll go down its throat more smoothly, The Plant uses its vines to pull off Austin's shoes and the swallows the last of her smooth, helpless legs and feet.
